The 1st Miss Balikbayan International 2013 aims to discover and highlight a new breed of Balikbayan Filipinas -- through their Filipino lineage as well as their culture and values, which make them uniquely "Filipino," all around the globe.

The international event aims to personify the modern age identity of a "Filipina," as they return to their family's homeland.
